Dental bonding is a cosmetic procedure which can be completed in a single visit. The dentist makes use of a hard resin material to restore/reshape the tooth. The material is hardened quickly using special light. This procedure may be recommended when a particular tooth/teeth are damaged or have esthetic problems. Following are some of the cases that can be addressed through dental bonding.
Dental bonding is a non-invasive restoration procedure. Though it can be used in certain cases instead of dental veneers, it has its own disadvantages. The first and foremost step is to remove the decayed part of the tooth. An anti-bacterial agent is used to clear germs from the cavity once the decayed part is removed. The cavity may be roughened to ensure that the bonding material bonds with the tooth. The resin which is prepared to match the color of a tooth is applied over the tooth. It is trimmed to look perfect. The dentist finally uses a special light to harden the bonding material.
